Hungarian Christmas Hearts Workshop

Modern Folk will host a festive workshop with folk embroidery expert Titania Fisher. Participants will learn about Hungarian Matyó embroidery and make their own hanging heart to take home.

Matyó is an iconic style of folk embroidery from north east Hungary, famous for it’s brightly coloured flowers. It was even added to UNESCO’s Representative List Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2012.

The workshop will be on 16th December from 11am to 4pm and will cost £45. It will be in our shop in Bermondsey, close to London Bridge. All materials and tea and coffee will be provided. You can buy tickets here.

Don’t worry if you can’t make it - we will be hosting more workshops in the new year including a Matyó jewellery course with Titania. Join our mailing list or check back soon for further details.
